Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial & Design FAQs

  • I offer a full range of commercial and design photography services tailored to the needs of businesses, organizations, and creative professionals throughout Boulder County and beyond. Whether you are hosting a corporate event, launching a brand, showcasing a space, or telling your organization's story, I bring 15 years of experience and a thoughtful eye to every project.

Services include corporate events and conferences, design and architecture, food and product photography, editorial and publications, branding, nonprofit fundraisers and galas, community events, art exhibitions, and professional headshots.

  • My commercial work spans a wide range of industries and projects. I have worked with editorial clients like Boulder Lifestyle Magazine, helped curate images for a cookbook created by one of Boulder's local chefs, Maria Cooper, and provided coverage for CU Boulder and CSRA's annual safety summits. For years I have been the photographer behind McLane Western's annual safety banquets, celebrating the drivers who keep their operation running. I have also had the privilege of working alongside companies like Namaste Solar and Green Point Roofing, even getting up on the rooftops to capture the imagery they needed for social media and web content, and with the Bradford Group on their kitchen and bath design photography. Every project brings something new, and that variety is something I genuinely love about this work.

  • I take pride in getting it right the first time. From the initial inquiry to the final delivery, my approach is collaborative and hands on. I love working closely with the people who bring projects together, whether that is a marketing director, an event coordinator, or a business owner with a vision. We meet, we plan, we coordinate from start to finish so that the images I create are not just good photography but a true reflection of what you had in mind. Your vision drives the work, and I take that seriously.

  • Getting started is easy. Reach out by email, phone, or text, whatever is most convenient for you. From there we will set up a call or meet in person, whatever fits your schedule best. I want to make sure we are a good fit before anything is official, so that initial conversation is important to me. We will talk through the details and scope of your project, discuss your vision, timeline, and any specific needs, and go from there. No pressure, just a good conversation to see how I can best serve you and your project.

  • The more information you can share upfront, the better. To put together an accurate quote I will want to know the basics like the date, location, and duration of your project or event, but also the bigger picture, what you are hoping to achieve, how the images will be used, the number of people or spaces involved, and any specific shots or moments that are a priority. Every project is different, and having a clear understanding of your expectations from the start allows me to give you a quote that is tailored to your needs rather than a generic number. When we connect I will ask the right questions to make sure nothing gets missed.

  • Once you receive your quote, take some time to review the proposal and make sure it feels like the right fit for your needs and budget. If everything looks good, the next step is signing the agreement and submitting your deposit or full payment to officially reserve your date. From there the real collaboration begins. We will work closely together to refine your vision, talk through logistics, and make sure every detail is accounted for. Depending on the project, this may include a venue walkthrough, multiple rounds of correspondence, and ongoing planning conversations leading up to your shoot or event. I am with you every step of the way to make sure the final result matches what you had in mind.

  • On the day of your shoot I show up ready to go. Before we even get there we will have worked through your timeline and key moments together so I know exactly where to be and when. Whether we are working on a project that requires careful attention to detail or covering a large scale event with keynote speakers, presenters, and everything happening in between, I come prepared and focused. My goal is to blend into the environment so that the people and moments I am capturing feel natural and at ease. From the quiet in between moments to the big ones everyone will remember, I am there to capture the full story of your day. You can trust that nothing important will be missed.

  • The length of a shoot depends entirely on the scope of your project or event. If you find that you need additional coverage beyond the originally booked time, extra time can be added and prorated accordingly so you are only paying for what you need. As for travel, I am happy to go where the work takes me. For projects requiring travel beyond the local area, travel expenses including accommodations and airfare are covered by the client. We will outline all of those details clearly in your agreement so there are no surprises on either end.

  • Turnaround time for commercial projects varies depending on the scope of the work and any deadlines you have in place. For most corporate events and commercial shoots I aim to deliver finished images within two weeks, but I always want to know upfront if you are working toward a specific deadline so I can plan accordingly. During our planning process we will discuss your timeline and turnaround expectations so that delivery works for both of us. Finished galleries are delivered digitally through a private online gallery where images can be easily downloaded and shared with your team. If you prefer a different delivery method, like a USB drive, we can absolutely make that work too.

  • Large scale events rarely reschedule since they are planned well in advance and locked into a date, but for other commercial projects life sometimes throws a curveball and I completely understand that. If something comes up on your end we will work together to find a new date that works for everyone and plan from there. On the rare occasion that I am unable to fulfill a booking due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, I will do everything I can to find a trusted backup photographer to step in and cover your event or project seamlessly. Either way you will never be left without a plan. We will always figure it out together.

Lifestyle & Portrait FAQs

  • From engagements and weddings to family sessions, high school seniors, maternity, milestone celebrations like birthdays and b'nai mitzvahs, and everything in between, I cover the full range of life's most meaningful chapters. If it matters to you, it matters to me, and I would love to help you preserve it.

  • Getting started is easy. Reach out however feels most comfortable to you, whether that is an email, a phone call, or a text. I will get back to you promptly and we can chat about your vision, answer any questions, and find a date that works. A small deposit is required to reserve your session or event date, and once that is in place, we are officially on the books!

  • Nearly all sessions and events take place on location, and yes, you absolutely get a say in where we shoot. Whether that is the comfort of your own home, a favorite spot in nature, your event venue, or somewhere with a stunning mountain backdrop, we will find a setting that feels right for you. I also have a collection of go-to locations around Boulder County ranging from mountain landscapes and rustic settings to urban backdrops, so if you are not sure where to start, I am happy to help you decide.

  • While you are welcome to wear whatever feels like you, coordinating outfits tends to photograph beautifully and brings a cohesive look to your gallery. If you are not sure where to start, Google and Pinterest are great resources for visual inspiration, especially for family sessions and milestone celebrations. The one thing I would suggest avoiding is fluorescent colors, as they can cast onto the skin in photos. Beyond that, have fun with it!

  • Sessions are available in 30 minute and one hour blocks depending on your needs. The 30 minute session works beautifully for smaller family groupings or families with little ones, since in my experience young children do much better with a shorter, focused session. For larger families of five or more, milestone events, and celebrations, the full hour gives us plenty of room to work with. Both sessions are designed to give you a nice variety of images to choose from when selecting your favorites from the gallery.

Weddings are planned a little differently. From intimate elopements to half and full day coverage, wedding timelines are built around the details that are important to you, including guest count, ceremony and reception flow, and all the moments in between. We will work together to make sure the day is covered the way you envision it.

  • Life happens, and so does Colorado weather. If something comes up or mother nature has other plans, like pouring rain or extreme winds, we will work together to find a new date that works. A little overcast sky or light wind is nothing to worry about though, and can actually make for beautiful soft light in photos.

Wedding days and milestone events are a different story entirely. You cannot reschedule a wedding, a birthday bash, or a bar mitzvah, so we work with whatever the day brings and make the most of it. Some of my favorite images have come from rainy days. There is something genuinely beautiful about people who just laugh and roll with it.

  • The number of images varies depending on your session type, and full details are outlined on my Pricing page. All finished galleries are delivered digitally through a private online gallery where you can view, download, and share your images with ease. From there you can select the images you want to keep, purchase additional images individually, or purchase the entire gallery at once. Full gallery pricing varies slightly based on the total number of images included, so there is a flexible option for every budget.

  • Finished galleries are typically delivered within three weeks of your session or event date. During peak seasons, turnaround time may be a little longer, but I edit every gallery in the order sessions are photographed so your images are always given the time and care they deserve. I will keep you posted if anything changes on my end.

  • Yes! A print release is automatically included when you download your images, giving you the freedom to print with a lab of your choosing. That said, I also offer a boutique shop directly through your private gallery where you can order additional downloads, prints, and a variety of print products ranging from framed prints to canvas. It is a convenient option if you want everything in one place with quality you can count on.

  • Absolutely, without hesitation. I want to provide a welcoming space for everyone, including LGBTQ+ couples, families, and individuals. I am also proud to work with people of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and walks of life. Diversity is something I celebrate, and it shows in my work. Love is love, every family looks different, and every story deserves to be told with care and celebrated fully. I am honored to be trusted with yours.
